I sincerely apologize to the 10s of avid readers that so anxiously await my take on the weekend of college football action. But let’s chase it down, wrap it up, and probably get called for unnecessary roughness.

My Mortal Lock (2-3)

Georgia (-2) @ Missouri, OVER 64, Final: UGA 43 MIZZOU 29

Ok so my locks haven’t exactly been locks. I thought Georgia was going to continue their quest to becoming the new Alabama by rolling here. They came out slow and didn’t take advantage of their opportunities. At least the over hit.

Texas A&M @ Alabama (-26), Final: BAMA 45 TAMU 23 LOSS

I thought betting on the Tide at home was the safest bet possible. Not so. Apparently I suck at betting the SEC.

Minnesota (+2.5) @ Maryland, Final: UMD 42 MINN 13 LOSS

I’d rather lose like this and be dead wrong than get teased and lose a heart breaker, but yikes.

TCU (-3) @ Texas, Final: TEX 31 TCU 16 LOSS

Texas needs to make a fucking decision, are you back or not??? Either way I’m done betting their games.

Texas Tech @ Oklahoma State OVER 76, Final: TTU 41 OSU 17 LOSS

The laws of the universe are completely off when a Big 12 game doesn’t even break 60 points. Maybe Texas Tech is a force to be reckoned with. They are the first team in the Big 12 to ever decide to try on defense.

Stanford (-2) @ Oregon, Final: STAN 38 ORE 31 WIN

If I was on the other side of this one, I might have completely sworn of betting for life. BAD beat for Oregon bettors, a mere drop of luck for my otherwise piss-poor Saturday.

Check em out here.

I was 8-7 last week and not proud of it. This week, I was 2-1 in the big games, 7-3 in the rest. That’s 9-4 on the week and an improvement to 17-11 on the season.

Tears Train rolls through Blacksburg, VA

And Old Dominion played their backup QB…

Catch of the Year of the Week

Kinda good athlete plays for Virginia

Another example of college being more entertaining than the NFL…

He proceeded to hit the upright.

This is officially the year of the basketball school

Syracuse 4-0 for the first time since 1991. GO ORANGE

Kentucky ranked #17 going into week 5

Kansas went back to losing this week, but they’ve outperformed as well.

Oh, and Duke is ranked #22. But fuck Duke.

What We Learned This Week

Already mentioned it, but Kentucky and/or Syracuse are threats in their conferences.

UK hosts South Carolina next week and has a great shot to start 5-0. Cuse on the other hand travels to Death Valley. I’m impressed with my Orange but Clemson isn’t on the same drugs as Florida State seems to be. This is really their first test, how they perform on the road against a top 5 team will show us what we need to know about the Orange.

Texas Tech is officially your dark horse to win the Big 12.

The Red Raiders held Oklahoma State to 17 points, IN STILLWATER. From my quick research, Ok State has only been held to 20 or less points 3 times in the last 3 seasons. If TTU decides to continue to play decent defense, they could do some damage in the Big 12. I don’t see them being nationally competitive beyond that considering their loss to Ole Miss, but that’s why they play the game.

Oregon is a good football team, but Duck Nation is on suicide watch after that loss.

They outplayed Stanford all night…until they didn’t.

I wholeheartedly disagree with that caption. QB has to catch that.

Not just a buzzkill for the Ducks, their buzz was brutally murdered…by Stanford nerds.

Next Week

GREAT lineup next week. 12 West Virginia @ 25 Texas Tech, Florida @ 23 Mississippi State,  Game Day is in Happy Valley for 4 Ohio State @ 9 Penn State, Game Day could’ve been at 7 Stanford @ 5 Notre Dame, 20 BYU @ 11 Washington, and 19 Oregon @ 24 California. Syracuse @ Clemson is also getting some hype, but I’m still not buying it. I’d much rather be pleasantly surprised with an upset. There’s a chill in the air that I’m clearing, and that makes me even more excited for the rest of the season.

Just clearing the (finally chilly) air.
