Big shake ups in the Top 25 this week, that’s what October is all about (sorry, not sorry MLB). Cincinnati got handed their first loss, Ohio State had their annual embarrassing blow-out loss to Purdue, and Washington State demolished Oregon at home.
Contrary to all that madness, Michigan beat up on their little brothers in East Lansing, Clemson confirmed that they are definitely a top-3 team in the country, Kentucky escaped a tough game with Vanderbilt, and LSU rolled at home.
Let’s wrap ‘er up!
HOWEVA, my Dad and I went in on Purdue +12.5 and the Purdue ML. Needless to say those paid off very nicely. It was the only bet I made that I did not feel good about on Saturday. Maybe it’s time to stop thinking I have any idea on anything.
But, want to know why it took me so long to actually get to work on this wrap-up? Because I spent this morning GRINDING on an excel workbook that can analyze team’s tendencies to cover taking into account multiple variables. Numbers don’t lie, and neither do I. Lots of wins are gonna be coming my way.
Fun Shit You Probably Missed
Why’d you miss it? Did the chick make you go apple picking?

Butch Jones got a gatorade bath as an “intern” after beating the school that is paying him $200K a MONTH to not coach there.
Ohio State has never* had a reason to fire Urban Meyer, until now
Party on Purdue!
What we learned this week
Michigan controls their own destiny in the Big Ten.
And probably the playoff too. Their only loss was week 1 at Notre Dame. They have shown a ton of improvement since then and have one of the best defenses in the country. The Wolverines held Michigan State to their worst offensive performance in their series since 1947. They’re off next week, then get Penn State at home, their last true test until they travel to Columbus for Ohio State. Penn State has a big game this weekend at home against Iowa, it will be a tough game to come off of to beat a well-rested Michigan.
Clemson is a confusing team.
They’ve had plenty of turmoil to deal with over the last couple weeks with Kelly Bryant’s departure, so maybe that’s having some effect but how did Syracuse have them on the ropes in Death Valley, then they cover a 17 point spread over an undefeated NC State team? Trevor Lawrence is probably the reason. As a freshman, he will grow exponentially each week behind center, and their talent and depth make it a much easier job for him.
Scottie Frost and Nebraska will be just fine.
They finally got their first win of the season in convincing fashion over Minnesota. Culture changes take time and there are growing pains involved. Coach Frost has them working through those pains and hopefully seeing some light at the end of the tunnel. Over 20 upperclassmen have left the program since he arrived, that’s not a bad thing. He needs his guys that will buy into his culture. They’ve got an easy on against Bethune-Cookman this week, then they still have Sparty and Iowa left on the schedule. I’d love to see them win one of those.
